Sunday's Coming ~ July 24, 2016

I've been working on this message for a couple weeks.  For some, I think the word from Luke 18 will be familiar.  But I think that for all of us, if we allow ourselves to listen to what the text is saying, this text will shake some junk loose in our soul.  It will free us to be truly loved by God and experience whatever mess our life has become to be made beautiful by his grace in Jesus.

I know a man who uses a medical device daily to shake his lungs.  His body is susceptible to lung infections and pneumonia.  The device breaks up any build up in his lungs, frees his breathing, and increases oxygen to his heart.  This is good!

I am praying that the Holy Spirit would do that for us this week.  Over the years, the messes of life build up in the corners of our souls.  The mess seems almost normal after a while.  But deep down, the breath of our soul grows week.  Oh that God's grace would shake us loose and free us again!
