Sunday's Coming ~ July 3, 2016

Jesus takes the frayed strands of our lives and weaves a tapestry of grace.  Jesus is not surprised at the messy places life finds us and he'll never turn his back on us.  No. Matter. What.

This Sunday, we welcome Rev. Tom Smith as a very special guest.  Tom is in his first year as the Ministry Coordinator for the Regional Synod of the Heartland.  He and his wife, Peg, recently moved to Orange City, where the Synod offices are located.

Tom's message takes us to the messy place a woman named Naomi found herself in: first, she leaves her home with her husband and two sons during a famine.  In a foreign land, her husband dies.  Then both sons die, leaving her alone with two daughers-in-law from that foreign land.  What will happen next?

How will God's grace show up in the messes that we didn't cause, but nonetheless find ourselves in?  Who will redeem what is lost in our lives?

Also this week, we will celebrate communion.  Elders will be passing plates of bread and juice and we welcome all who confess Jesus as Lord and belong to a church to participate.
